Siam Benzoin Absolute (50% in alcohol)

Benzoin is great for adding a balsamic background to any oil. Lots of people consider it Sun, and it is wonderful for any sort of purification, but it definitely has a role to play in love oils and it is the scent associated with Netzach (Venus) on the Tree of Life according to the Golden Dawn tradition as well. Benzoin helps build up confidence and restores a sense of calm well-being, as if characteristic for this scent family. This is an absolute extracted from Styrax tonkinensis in Laos and diluted to 50% with benzyl alcohol. Remember that a 50% dilution of an absolute means it is five times as strong as an essential oil, since absolutes are usually diluted to 10%, so use this in small amounts. It tends to acquire a medicinal undertone if used in too large amounts anyhow. Top
