BergamotOrganic Bergamot (Bergaptene-Free) Essential Oil

Bergamot is the standard citrus note that is found in many types of perfumes (and is the flavoring of Earl Grey tea). It's a good choice for when you want a citrus in a magic oil but don't want it to be identifiable as lemon, lime, or orange. Like most Sun herbs, it is emotionally uplifting and purifying, banishing the dark and the negative. Bergamot is identified with Virgo and Aquarius in the Zodiac. Some use it to draw money, especially when it is owed (added to Command and Compel); others use it for luck, particularly when gambling. It's an ingredient in Glory Water, together with frankincense and orange blossom water, and in that form is for asperging. This essential oil is pressed from the peels of organic Citrus aurantium var. bergamia in Italy. The chemical that can cause sun sensitivity in some people has been removed, which is what the "bergaptene-free" means.

Combining With Other Essential Oils

Bergamot is a generally citrusy scent with undertones that are balsamic and herbaceous. It blends well with bay leaf, basil, blood orange, bois de rose, cardamom, cassie, clary sage, clove, coriander, cubeb, cumin, elemi, galbanum, geranium, gingergrass, grapefruit, hay, jasmine, labdanum, lavender, lemon, lime, myrtle, neroli, patchouli, petitgrain, rose, sandalwood, tonka bean, and vanilla.
