Organic Camphor (Ravintsara) Essential Oil
This scent is great for magickal perfume oils dedicated to Moon Work like divination, astral travel, and dreams and for botanical perfumes honoring Moon deities like Diana or Thoth. Ravintsara is made from the leaves instead of the wood of the camphor tree. It still has that cool, Moon-like camphoraceous scent but smells like it comes from a plant instead of a refinery - much more subtle and interesting to work with and less dangerous than white camphor, more in keeping with other plants of the myrtle and laurel families. Ravintsara is a snake quietly sneaking into your consciousness. All camphoraceous scents are Moon, but this one is especially subtle, gliding in like Moonrise. I highly recommend it, but don't use this oil if you have epilepsy. Steam-distilled from Cinammom camphora in Madagascar. Top
