By their nature, thorns are Mars,
and baneful works often call for thorns for fixing, for attack
magic, or for strong protection.

Thorns
They are also helpful in charms that remind us to be aware and think first before
acting. Blackthorn has a special history along these lines, which makes sense,
since its thorns can get several inches long and are extremely sharp,
and blackthorn has its own reputation as a tree of the Good Folk and
thus dangerous. But blackthorn does not grow in North America, and its thorns are not typically sold
either. I have come across thorns harvested from locust trees and offer
these for sale. This is a mixture of thorn pieces and complete thorns.
You have to sort through them to get complete thorns, but they are nice
ones. These are the thorns I picked out of this ounce, for instance (that's
a quarter for reference).
