La Belle Femme Love Oil
Folk have been asking for a love oil forever, and I finally got one made. It was inspired by Erzulie and is crammed with lush, sweet flower scents and rich balsamic undertones. There's nothing maidenly here; it's all grown woman. Night-blooming jasmine and Provence rose are at the center, representing sweet daytime love and sensuous night-time romance. They are given additional richness and lusciousness with vanilla, tonka bean, ripe apricot (osmanthus), and more.  It takes a while for the jasmine to flow off and the other scents to be revealed, but they are scrumptious. I've made this oil fairly strong--feminine but not wimpy, the assertion of one's will in the kind of emotional situation that can make a person irrational. For the same reason, it is steady and long-lasting, like an old-fashioned perfume. Great for anointing oneself, dressing love candles, adding to a ritual bath, and honoring deities like Erzulie or Aphrodite.
