Fiery
Wall of Protection Oil I've wanted
to do my own version of this oil ever since I first ran across
the name years ago. Protection is the most-often requested type
of magic, in my experience, so I knew that people would find
it useful. After creating a Archangel Michael (Fire) protection
talisman for someone, I felt like I had a much better grasp
on the concept behind this oil. I started with some Fiery scents,
like ginger, black pepper, allspice, and turmeric. All of these
are warming and naturally purifying on the material plane and
have often played a role in traditional formulations of this
oil. I added a couple of Crowleyan Fire of Mars scents, rose
and geranium. Citrus scents (I think it's impossible for evil
to exist in the presence of lemon!) give a lot of cleanliness
to the oil profile. And for a deep and powerful body, I chose
Fiery olibanum and myrrh. Olibanum is much mellower than frankincense
and does not have its churchy associations but it is also more
closely linked with the history of magical purification, since
it is a primary ingredient in Abramelin operation tools. Myrrh
was used in various ancient cultures including that of Egypt
and Israel to purify the dead, which indicates it is master
of the Dark (and because it comes from a thorny tree, it is
often considered a Mars and therefore Fire fragrance). Because
of the warm ingredients like ginger and pepper, this oil might
feel warm on the skin, especially if your skin is very fair.
I deliberately resisted adding cinnamon for that reason. Use
it for protection particularly from negative magic or for canceling
a negative person's effect.
