Shield of Mars Oil
This magic oil is the result
of many requests for a good protection oil. I decided to approach
this oil from the perspective of the warrior Mars in his protective
role. I therefore chose Mars-ruled herbs that are warming but not
hot, like ginger, galangal, myrrh, nicotine-free tobacco, and zedoary,
as well as other Mars herbs and spices. It also uses natural beeswax
as a scent, since bees are the quintessential Mars creature and
as we know, they are very protective of their community and their
home. What results is a wonderfully warm, slightly spicy scent.
The myrrh combines with other scents to give the oil a sort
of licorice edge. The beeswax helps create the scent of sun-warmed
bee fur. This scent is not only protective but actually comforting,
which one does not expect of a Mars combination but which should
be one result of protection. Besides acting
as a defense against magical or spiritual attack, this ritual oil
can be used to honor all
Mars spirits in their role as protector. This oil tends to be warm
on the skin. Zedoary root contains a natural gold colorant that
might stain white clothing. This colorant also makes this oil stand
out well if you use it for drawing talismans and seals.
