Alchemy Works is a metaphysical supply shop for practicing mystics, kabbalists, pagans, witches, occultists, spiritual seekers, and those who enjoy unique and beautiful plants, natural fragrances, and hand-compounded incenses and oils. Founded in 2000, Alchemy Works has always been a small, owner-operated business. Every one of the 500+ products we sell is treated with care and attention. Whether you practice one of the many mystical traditions that span our globe, or simply enjoy seeds, herbs, and wonderful scents, we trust that you will find something of interest here.

We make our magic oils, incenses, inks, and essences by hand within our consecrated ritual space. We pay attention to seasonal, planetary, astrological, and other metaphysical influences, as well as to our own states of mind while we are preparing them. We understand that intention is a crucial component of practice, so tending to our own spiritual lives is also an integral part of our work. The formulations you will find here are based upon personal recipes or on historically accurate formulae that have been gathered through researching works like the Ebers papyrus or Dioscorides' Materia Medica. We grow or wild harvest some of the seeds that we offer, and we take great care when choosing suppliers for those that we do not grow or gather ourselves.

As active spiritual practitioners ourselves, we understand the importance of using quality, ethically sourced materials. We take pride in what we sell and are committed to offering only natural and synthetic-free products—meaning that our incenses, magic oils, essences, and inks contain no dyes, no synthetic fragrances, no chemical extenders like DPG, and no petroleum-based oils or waxes. Whenever possible we use ingredients that we grow and/or personally gather, or that we source from suppliers that provide sustainably grown, high quality, natural and/or organic botanical ingredients. Our products are offered for use in spiritual, ritual, meditative, and magical practices, not for medicinal or cosmetic purposes.

Alchemy Works does not offer readings, nor do we sell spells, healings, or any other workings. Our site has been designed to provide you with information, supplies, and tools that can assist in your own practice. We encourage you to experiment with creating your own blends and ritual formulations, and we offer our herbs, resins, and essential oils for this purpose. Though we take great pride in formulating our magic oils, incenses, and other supplies, ultimately it is up to you to do the work. Our website offers a wealth of information including folklore, magical and ritual uses of herbs, instructions for growing a magical garden, tips on incense-making, which plants are linked to which planets or aspects of the divine, and more. In an attention economy like ours, where distraction drives revenue (every click is a fresh opportunity to advertise), we like to think of our site as a type of resistance. Yes, it's old and clunky with lots of text—some of our patrons kindly call it "retro"—but it is also an opportunity to slow down, stay a while, and get in touch with what inspires you.
