An immensely spiritually and emotionally uplifting scent that protects without fencing us in, this fragrance is a good example of how Sun scents are warming and relaxing without being stupifying or restricting. This regal fragrance wards off negative energies and bad intentions - it's an excellent smudge against negative magick - and is great for purification, whether of oneself or of one's magickal tools. I find this scent to be useful at all levels of spiritual development, from newbie on. It also is helpful in determining the spiritual side of what appears to be a completely material matter. Top The perfume of frankincense has been used for spiritual purposes by many cultures. Recently I was surprised to find it was important in the Philistines' worship of the fish-god Dagon (I don't usually think of it as a Water scent). It is also associated with magic connected to the fixed stars the Pleiades and is the perfume of the 13th lunar mansion. Steam-distilled from Boswellia carteri harvest in Somalia and distilled in France. Top Combining With Other Essential Oils The rich, resinous scent of frankincense goes well with ambrette, amyris, angelica root, benzoin, bergamot, camphor, caraway, carrot seed, cassia, cedar, chamomile, citronella, clary sage, clove, copal, coriander, costus, cubeb, currant bud, cypress, eucalyptus, fir balsam, fir, galangal, galbanum, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, guaiacwood, gurjun balsam, hay, ho leaf, hyssop, juniper berry, labdanum, lavender, lemon, mandarin, mugwort, myrrh, narcissus, nutmeg, oakmoss, opoponax, orange, orris, patchouli, pepper, pine, rose, rosewood, sandalwood, spruce, storax, thyme, tobacco, tonka bean, vanilla, vetiver, and violet leaf.
