A very magical herb, laurel has been consecrated to Sun gods like Apollo since ancient times. Unusually for a Sun herb, it also has a long history of use in divination--it is said that the first temple of Apollo at Delphi was made of laurel and had the shape of a hut. Even today witches breathe the scent of laurel leaves for help with divination. Wonderful for dressing candles or musical instruments (Apollo is the god of music) and for protection.
