A strongly protective herb, as one would expect from Mars, nettle has a tradition of use in protecting people and animals from supernatural attack. In contrast, at least one North American tribe considered nettle an ingredient in witchcraft when it was combined with snake's blood. Nowadays, people carry a bit of nettle on them to protect against lightning strikes and also to attract money (probably because it is so green). Many consider that nettle is olieribos mentioned in the Necronomicon. In keeping with its Mars association, nettle is traditionally considered a blood tonic. Nettle tea is drunk to help lower blood sugar and blood pressure (it's a diuretic). It seems to generally slow things down. The tea is made of 1 teaspoon of nettle to 1 cup of boiling water; infuse 15 minutes and drink a cup. |
