Homunculus Incense
I created this incense to evoke the sometimes dark force of creativity. It is intended to bring to mind the powerful imagination and creativity of artists like Rimbaud, Baudelaire, van Gogh, Lautrec, and others who were willing to risk their careers creating art beyond the confines of what was considered "good" at the time as well as the alchemists who dared to attempt the creation of a homunculus. I combine star anise, fennel, hyssop, wormwood, and other herbs with resins and liqueurs (no alcoholic content remains). This results in an incense rich in purifying and protective herbs that can prove helpful at those times when you are stuck in your work or feel overwhelmed by the dreck of the mundane. It is also helpful to magic workers who take an artisan's approach to their Craft. Hyssop is a classic protection and purification herb used since ancient times and still important in grimoire work, wormwood protects from attack, star anise is helpful in the awakening of psychic abilities, and fennel, as a classic Mercury herb, sharpens the intellect and aids in the acquisition of magical knowledge.
