Set Incense
I wanted an incense to compliment the oil I made for Set (Foreign Devil), one that would expand on the repertoire of scents that can evoke him. The foundation is myrrh, often tied to Mars due to its thorns and thereby in my mind connected with this red-identified desert being. There's a bit of frankincense to represent the eye of Re, which Set put out in one of their tussles. I included a number of warm spices, like cloves, long pepper, cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg, for Set's desert heat, but also selected the perfume of coriander and a fruity lavender for Set's more ambiguous side. I also adjusted the color a bit with premium dragonsblood resin.
