A few drops of this amber liquid in water creates milky cloud forms that are an excellent aid to scrying, especially with a dark background. The drops bloom impressively and the forms created tend to stay put instead of diffusing unless you stir up the water. I had a difficult time photographing this effect, since the Milk forms layers of clouds and smoke in the water. The philtre smells lightly of storax, a Moon scent. It is also wonderful for honoring the Maiden and Venus work (add a few drops to incense or to unlit charcoal tabs, but remember it is almost pure alcohol). This philtre is based on a 200-year-old formula that I modified for magical use. It combines best Thai benzoin, refined storax resin, fragrant cyperus root, cinnamon bark, nutmeg, and musk seeds with 95% organic grain alcohol. This mellows for a moon before being strained and packaged in brown bottles with glass droppers. Do not ingest or apply to skin. |
