Grapefruit Chemical-Free Red Grapefruit Essential Oil

This joyful scent is great for awakening and arousing the self to action and for connecting to others in a helpful way. The refreshing fragrance helps renew one's energy and uplift one's emotions, so it is good when one is under magickal attack or simply drained. This fruit contains the planetary metals of both Saturn and Jupiter, but the largeness of the fruit, the (usually) bright yellow skin, and the bitter taste makes grapefruit distinctly Jupiter. Its uplifting character corresponds well with Jupiter's optimism. From that perspective, grapefruit offers Jupiter protection over the long haul, a place of respite where one can have a moment of refreshment in order to continue. Some consider the scent of grapefruit especially useful in prayer, which fits with Jupiter's rulership of religion. It is a nice ingredient for magick oils for meditation. Steam-distilled from organic Citrus paradisii in South Africa.   Top

Combining With Other Essential Oils

Like all the citrus essential oils, don't apply anything with red grapefruit oil to your skin before going out in the sun; it can cause you to get a very bad sunburn. The scent of grapefruit goes well with the natural perfumes of amyris, beeswax, benzoin, bergamot, black pepper, blood orange, caraway, cardamom, cassia, cassis, citronella, clary sage, clove, coriander, currant bud, cypress, eucalyptus, fennel seed, fir, frankincense, galbanum, geranium, ginger, gurjun balsam, ho leaf, juniper berry, lavender, lemon, lime, litsea cubeba, mandarin, mimosa, neroli, orris, palmarosa, patchouli, peppermint, petitgrain, rosemary, rosewood, sandalwood, star anise, storax, tangerine, tonka bean, thyme, vanilla, verbena, ylang ylang.
